Hello! I’m Megan. I am a weaver, knitter, mender, and dyer based in Duluth, Minnesota, located on traditional and contemporary lands of the Ojibwe people. I particularly enjoy working with natural fibers that are grown or raised, and strive to shine a light on the land, farmers, plants, and animals that put in so much hard work to make the beautiful fibers I have the pleasure of working with. Natural fibers are desirable because they are biodegradable, support small farming economies, and don't use harsh chemicals or plastics. Many synthetic fibers contain micro-plastics that pollute watersheds and end up in drinking water. Additionally, natural fibers have a soul and a story, and are a delight to work with, touch, and wear. I aim for transparency and sustainability in materials and process, and if you ever have a question, please ask.
My background is in small-scale, regenerative farming, and I came to fiber arts while working on a Northern Minnesota sheep farm. I make as a personal response to climate change, and a yearning for a deeper connection to the plants and animals that clothe us. I am not an expert or master at any of these crafts, but have a love of learning, creating, and sharing with others.
